愛のコスチューム
  この一話の魅力の一つはナデシコに残ったみんなが着る軍服調の恰好でしょう。ウリバタケがこれらの福を提供した事についての会話のすぐあとで
以下は本編からカットされている台詞です。ちょっともったいないですネ。

メグミ    「コスプレで気分一新です(はぁと)ねっ」
ハルカ    「なんかやる事やって行き詰まった夫婦みたい…ねっ」

Miltech Strangeness
    While most of this is old news, a lot of things in episode does not make sense.  Kirsk is located in Ukraine, so why would there be a factory that's capable of building German Tiger I tanks?  A more natural answer would be the KV-2 or the JS-2.
    Also, most of the geographical names made no sense at all.  Only Kamov and Il makes any remote sense.  Kamov is from Kamov Nikolai Il'ich, the designer of many proud Russian counter rotar helicopters and head of Kamov Design Bureau.  Il is short for Ilyushin, last name of S.V.Ilyushin, head of Ilyushin Design Bureau, famous for their attack aircraft of Russia.
    I have no idea what Glakanya, Subeinun, and Moanna is.

軍事オタク的珍妙振り
    これは今更言うまでもないですが、11話にはかなりおかしい部分がありました。クルスクはウクラニナにある都市ですが、なにゆえそこにタイガーI型を作れる工場があるのやら。KV-2やJS-2戦車ならおかしくないのですが。
    それといくつかの地名もまったく意味がわからないものが多いです。カモフとイールはならまだ多少が軍事的関わりのある名前ですが。因みカモフは二重反転ローターのヘリコプターを設計したカモフ･ニコライ･イルイッチからでしょう。カモフ設計局の主席設計技師でもありました。なお、イールですが、恐らくこれはイルつまりIlの話しで、これはイリューションの略です。これも有名なロシアの設計技師の名前で、攻撃機設計で有名なS.V.イリューションからでしょう。
    しかしながらグラカーニャとスベイヌンとモアナはわからず仕舞いでした。
 

Ruri's Quick Capsule Review
At the very end of the singing sequence of the Aestivalis pilots at the tail end of A Part (the first half of the episode,) Ruri blurts out "fools?" as in "They are true fools, arne't they...?"  This was one of my favorate lines.  The delivery was just perfect.

ルリの即興評論
Aパートの最後のエステバリスのパイロットの行進曲を聞かされ、絶句したルリの「ばか？」は大好きでした。これは英語のし辛く、結局疑問符がついただけのFool?と翻訳してしまいました。

Taking Your Everyday Tank Through the Car Wash
Another wonderful Izumism was "wasing a car...  that's car washing (sensha)..."  Where sensha is Japanese for a tank.  I translated it to be "Drinking too much…  Getting tanked…"

Generations of Weapons
Goat's line about tanks being previous generation tanks is a bit hard to swallow in English.  It flow much better in Japanese, but the central idea is that Goat is trying to describe tanks as being an old form of land based weapon system.  His expression about "generations" refers to the stages of development of something, i.e. computers.  (1st generation computers, 2nd generation computers, etc…)  Assuming that the Aestivalis is the 5th generation primary land weapons system, then the 3rd generation primary land weapons system would be the armored tracked tank, and the horse might be considered to be the 2nd generation and ancient Greek Phalanx infantry formation might be conceptualized as the 1st generation.  Notice that the time spans for each generation vary widely in each case.

Uribatake's Geekish Speak
Uribatake states that Sonderkraftfahrzeug is the cool expression for tank.  Sonderkraftfahrzeug is German but does not mean tank, specifically.  Translated in to English it would be special purpose/s vehicle.  This can also be taken to mean special customized model variant, as in Sturmgeschutz III Sd.Kfz.142 or Assult Gun III special vehicle type 142 in English.  The term is also commonly employed to describe a class of armed wheeled vehicles.  You might not be familiar with the expression Sonderkraftfahrzeug, but you might have come across the expression Sd.Kfz.  As best I have been able to figure out, this is the same thing.  So Uribatake certainly has a lot of knowledge about tanks, but he's understand is just a little bit off, exposing the limitations of Uribatake's knowledge.  Japanese people are familiar with the term panzerkampfwagen, as any tank model in Japan made by Tamiya has the German name printed on the box as well as its Japanese name.  I went with "Sonderkraftfahrzeug" as the use of the term is supposed to sound moronic and geeky.

Bull's Eye Izumism
When the Aestivalis unit manages to defeat the strange Jovian tank, Izumi lets another Izumism.  The original line was "me ni kissu...  me i chuu" where me is eyes, kissu is kissing, and chuu is the onomatopoeia for kissing.  In other words, it works out to "kissing the eye" = "a hit (hitting your target.)"  After much struggling, I came up with "Affirming lies…  Bulls eye." for the English translation.
